[i]p_m_cryan: "Trabajos y comidas y salud para todos".

I was idly flicking through television channels at 1AM Eastern Time this morning, after parting from my New Year's Eve companions, and came upon a Spanish television channel that was showing live links to celebrations in Mexico, in Nicaragua, and various other Latin America locales, with fireworks and music and just an awful lot of joy. The gorgeous journalist in El Ciudad de Mexico asked the bandleader of one of the musical groups who'd just finished performing what he wished for in 2010, and he told her, as far as my rusty Cuban-influenced Castilian Spanish could translate, "Jobs and food and health for everybody".

And I reciprocate that sentiment to you, my Gentle Readers, in this New Year, along with paz - peace.

[i]booksbynight: American Library Association Midwinter Conference 2010.

Will any of my Gentle Readers be going to the ALA Midwinter Meeting in Boston from January 15-19, 2010?

Yes, I am aware that it conflicts with Arisia this year. No help for it.

If you'll be there and would like to meet up for a coffee or other beverage, please reply here with your e-mail or cellphone number, or both. Comments screened for your privacy.

[i]p_m_cryan: Hello.... hello... is this thing on?

For the few who've been kind enough to keep this blog on your LJ reading lists, despite it being a dump for Twitter, I thank you.

I have disconnected the LoudTwitter function here for now, due to its easy hackability, and posts from hereon in will be of more substance.

Expect to see this blog become much more active after January 2010.

I appreciate your patience.
